    Tips to Clear an IAS examination & become a Successful IAS Officer

    Becoming an IAS officer is the dream of millions of Indian students. IAS is an acronym that stands for Indian Administrative Service. It is a difficult and very competitive examination conducted by the Union Civil Service Commission. Only the most talented and talented young aspirants are able to take the exam because the selection process is rigorous and challenging. Becoming an IAS officer offers you great career options because you are part of the bureaucratic system and you have the opportunity to work from within. The salary of an IAS may not be too high, but the government offers many benefits that make the IAS career the most desired of students.

    How to become an IAS officer?

    To become an IAS officer, you must take the Civil Service Exam. However, you can only take the UPSC Public Service Exam after graduation. This means that you must pass the undergraduate courses after completing your 10 + 2 exams. This is a one-year exam divided into preliminary and primary exams. While the Preliminary Examination is objective in nature, you should check the right options against the multiple choice questions, but the main exam is theory-based and allows you to test your actual knowledge of the subject. Each year, more than one hundred thousand students participate in the preliminary exams, but only 170 of them are finally selected to become staff members of the IAS.

    Eligibility Criteria for the Public Service Review

    • You must be an Indian citizen aged between 21 and 30 years old.

    • You must have completed your undergraduate degree in all areas.

    CST Preliminary and Main Review

    Preliminary examinations are objective, while the main exam is theoretical in nature. The preliminary examination takes place in May/June and the main examination in November/ December. The personal interviews take place in April of next year and the selected candidates are informed of the dates of their interviews by post. The preliminary examination tests your knowledge in the subject of your choice and in your general studies. After passing the preliminary examination, you must appear on the written examination. This exam is based on theory and consists of the following:

    • All Indian language (300 points)

    • English language (300 marks)

    • Essay (300 marks)

    • General studies (300 marks)

    • Two subjects of your choice (300 points each)

    • Personal interview

    Clearing this competitive is not everyone’s cup of tea. You have to work hard by doing your day and night one. There are many coaching institutes that provide classes for IAS examination. Apart from this, today there are many online portals where you can get to know about the syllabus, previous year question papers, cut off marks, and so on.
