Welcoming Gujarat Government’s new Industrial Policy Mr. Jayendra Tanna, President of Gujarat Traders Federation referred in a letter to Shri Vijay Rupani, CM Gujarat that the policy is very innovative and have progressive outlook which can help MSME for their faster growth and development and will also help Gujarat to retain the position of first mover where Gujarati Vyapaaris have already set many benchmarks.
Mr. Jayendra Tanna referred to the 2011 draft of Gujarat Trade Retail trade policy and requested CM to implement it. He also mentioned that earlier economic crisis and now COVID-19 has impacted badly the entire MSME sector.
Mr. Tanna also emphasized on declaring new Gujarat Retail Trade policy, In which some new points like retail traders should get financial assistance via subsidies, loans with lower interest rates, relief in electricity duty etc. must be included. Along with Covid-19 he also mentioned how rapidly growing E-commerce businesses have put a dent on retailers business which led to small businesses cutting down on number of employees leaving behind lots of unemployed people, more than 15 lakhs retail trade community in Gujarat are badly affected. Gujarat Traders Federation (GTF) demanded the government of Gujarat to announce a separate retail trade policy along with a relief package.
Crowded markets should be shifted to better places and for the purpose land should be allocated at lower prices on lease to the micro, small and medium businesses. Besides to develop infrastructure on it, the state government should also make arrangements for finance on lower interest rate, said president of Gujarat Traders Federation Mr. Jayendra Tanna in the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani.
